Being one of a small group of medical providers who is both a Naturopath and an Acupuncturist, I offer multiple tools to support you. I have a major interest in herbal medicine and practice a blend of Western Anthroposophic herbal medicine and Classical Chinese herbalism. I am trained in an ancient lineage of Chinese herbalism that uses abdominal palpation techniques to identify indications for specific herbs using the sense of touch. My approach to herbalism supports greater harmony between the body’s organs as well as the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems in order to help your own body alter the course of disease. I also utilize an offshoot of Western herbal medicine known as biotherapeutic drainage, which uses slightly diluted combinations of herbs and minerals to harmonize the body.
I practice an eclectic style of acupuncture that incorporates different ideas from multiple mentors. I use both standard acupuncture needles as well as needle-free acupuncture techniques for more sensitive patients. I sometimes incorporate gentle bodywork into treatment and decide where to treat you based off of what your body tells me. Patients frequently feel an overall sense of wellbeing and peace following treatment.
I incorporate the use of pharmaceutical medicines based on patient preference when they are safe and appropriate.
